Hamline University President Fayneese Miller has resigned after firing an art teacher who used a depiction of the Muslim leader Muhammad in class, and act that caused radical Muslim students to protest the class.
Last year, Hamline fired Erika Lopez Prater, an art history adjunct professor, after radical, anti-truth Muslim students attacked her for showing a piece of ancient art that depicted Muhammad. In more modern times, it became the practice of anti-modernity Muslims to claim that depiction of Muhammad are blasphemous. But this was not true at all in antiquity.
Prof. Prater was making that point in her art history class when the radical student attacked her and began demanding that the school fire her.
Consequently, Hamline President Miller acquiesced to the obscene demands and got rid of Prof. Prater despite that Prater was telling the truth about both Islam and art history.
But finally, Miller herself is headed out the door, and not a moment too soon.
Miller has mysteriously announced she is “retiring” from her role leading the school.
Per Just the News:
Hamline released a statement Monday morning announcing Miller’s retirement date of June 30, 2024, listing her “many achievements” over eight years as president in a two-page statement and one-page “fact sheet.”
The closest either comes to acknowledging the Islamic art controversy is a quote from Board Chair Ellen Watters that cited Miller’s “ability to navigate complex issues.”
Hamline said the statement and fact sheet would be “the university’s only media comment on the matter,” but noted Miller would answer media questions at 1 p.m. Central Monday.
Every single one of these free speech-hating, anti-intellectual, leftist, woke, simps need to be eliminated from our schools.
